hii here is the answer to your question---

Explanation:

average speed=total distance covered/ total time taken.

let, the total distance be 2d.

let, the train cover first half-distance with 60km/hr and second half distance with 40km/hr.

let, t1 and t2 be the time interavls.

then t1=d/60.

t2=d/40.

therefore , t1+t2=2d+3d/120.

=5d/120=d/24.

therefore average speed as well as average velocity= 2d/d/24

which is equal to 48km/hr or 13.3m/s
