Can u tell me why is earth called the blue planet

About 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered in water, which appears blue from space. But also, due to the atmosphere the land appears quite hazy, which at a distance becomes a wash with the predominantly blue surface.

ANS : from outer space , the earth appears blue because its two thirds surface is covered by water . It is , therefore called a blue planet
