Can van mahotsav replace but we have already suffered by cutting trees?why?

We cut trees for supply of wood ,etc. frequently.
But we conduct VAN MAHOTSHAV for yearly once.
So we are suffering by cutting trees.
So,the final solution is:
1) Plant more trees.
