Can we construct a ∆ ABC in which AB = 5 cm BC = 4 cm and AC= 9 cm.?
Give reason for your answer.​

No, we cannot draw the triangle having the measurement 5 cm, 4 cm, and 9 cm.

This is because, the sum of two sides of the triangle i.e., 5 cm and 4 cm is equal to the length of the third side which is already 9 cm.

There is actually a theorem which states that "the sum of any of the two sides, say AB + AC, of a triangle is always greater than the third side, say BC i.e., AB + AC > BC".

Here, the case is different as the sum of the two sides 5 cm and 4 cm is 9 cm and the third side has the length 9 cm and die to this it is impossible to draw the triangle.
