can we decide the no. of points for the question we have asked ? if yes then how

yes we can decide number of points for the question we have asked as by seeing the number of marks allotted to that question suppose if it is it 3 marks question you should write minimum 3 points with headings and if it is of 5 marks then you should write 5 points with heading
