We can save our earth or we should say we can serve our earth in a millions of ways whether directly or indirectly. But if we talk about the greater good, we van talk of ways such as people should stop using substances which emit greenhouse gases like chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) which when introduced in the earth's atmosphere leads to the depletion of the ozone layer which helps to block the harmful ultraviolet rays and which also acts as a barrier to asteroids and meteorites from entering and hitting the earth's surface.
