Answer:
“The Little Match Girl” is a "sad story" about a miserable young girl. There was a small and poor girl who was forced to sell matched by her father. She would be permitted to enter home at night only if she sells all the matches. It was very cold and she was not able to withstand the chillness. One day when she was selling matches, she collapsed down due to the cold weather. She had few matches with her with which she tried to warm her body. She tried to light one of the matches and that was always mentioned as one of her dream. When she lit the last match, she was able to see her dead grandmother. However, unfortunately, her grandmother took the small girl also to heaven. The theme of this story is portrayed as “Unfortunate fate of a young child , the problem faced by the weaker section of the society and problems due to poverty", as the little girl's father has no concern for her well being and enables her to get through her suffering. Besides, she prefers sitting in the snow rather than going home for the fear of being beaten by her father for not having and any money .The author express unfortunate fate of the little girl by showing us that , she is out on the street on a cold winter retail to cell matches when many children offer it would be celebrating the new years Eve . The story also themed about the class difference between the little girl and the wealthy section in the society which the author has contrasted from her physical condition is also the reason for the hardship faced by the little girl. The story also portrays about treatment of children in Victoria Society. The author also showed about the feeling of love that she remembers is from heart deceased grandmother .in her grandmother's face full of tenderness and love that she remembers and which keeps her warm
It is the story of a little girl who sells matches instead of celebrating on the New Year’s Eve. The story emphasizes the need of compassion towards those who are less privileged than us.
The author says that in this so-called civilized society, we do not have eyes to see the thousands of people who are in poverty. This story is not pertaining to one set of people but to all on this planet who are cruel towards poor people. On the moral aspect of life, it is very essential for all of us to shower compassion towards the needy.
