The moisture barrier is protected by a thin film called the acid mantle. Whenyou use products, like baking soda, which has a pH level of around 8.3, your skin becomes too alkaline, and its natural acid mantle and moisturebarrier are damaged. ... I would strongly advise against using baking soda.

Hope it helps you......!

The mild exfoliating property of baking soda makes it wonder ingrident to help banish acne pimples from your skin. It safe to be used on face as well after it is diluted with water .
