Can we use tongue to distinguish all kinds of substances? Why?

Because Human tounge have taste buds to detect all kinds of substances ( Gustatory receptors are present on the papillae of the tongue and are used for detecting taste. )

i.e. Sweet , Salty , Sour ,Bitter.
