Can we write this rule to find the direction of magnetic field around a circular loop?
Imagine that you are holding a current carrying circular loop in your right hand in such a way that the thumb is in same direction as that of current. Then the direction in which you curl your hand gives the direction of the magnetic field produced by loop.

Explanation:
Simply stated, the Right Hand Rule says that the magnetic field lines produced by a current-carrying wire will be oriented in the same direction as the curled fingers of a person's right hand (in the “hitchhiking” position), with the thumb pointing in the direction of the current flow.

Answer:
HEY THERE,
The rule which you have given is the right hand thumb for a straight conducting wire.
For a circular loop the curled fingers represents the direction of current whereas the thumb represents the direction of magnetic field.
