can we write x2(square) <40 as x<√40

No we can't write this given expression as x <√40 its against the rule of inequality..

we know that square on positive and negative number is positive so..

if x^2 <40

=) then - √40 < x < √40

this is correct way of writing..

because there exist two value of x which satisfies the given equation.

from law of inequality..

for any positive number " a "

if. x^2 < a

then. -√a< x <√a

x² < 40

x² -40 < 0

x(x - 40/x) <0

x<0 || x²< 40

Answer: -√40 < x < +√40
