can (x-1) be the remainder on division of a poly nomial p(x) by 2x+3 ? justify your answer.

putting x-1= 0,
we get x=1.
putting x=1 in 2x+3,
we get 5.
if x-1 was a factor, remainder must be 0 , not 5
