can x-1 be the remainder on division of a polynomial by 2x+3​

Our answer is no

this is because the degree of remainder is always smaller than the divisor.

Here :

(degree means power of the variable)

degree of remainder is 1

degree of divisor is also 1

they are equal ... which cannot be true...

Therefore, x-1 cannot be the remainder of 2x+3
