Can (x - 1) be the remainder on division of a polynomial p(x) by (x + 3)? Justify
your answer.

by remainder theorem

degree of divisor is greater thab the degree of remainder.

but in Question.

remainder =x-1, so, it's degree is 1

and

divisor = x+3, so it's degree is also 1.

which is wrong.

THEREFORE:- x-1 is not a factor of p(x)
