the force which is in contact is called contact forces ..for example in a game of tug of war force is applied from both the side to pull the rope towards them and hence this is called contact force..but in case the fruit falls down due to GRAVITAION force of attraction is called non contact forces...

Anonymous: can u explain to me why friction is useful, and why friction is a nuisance
Ananyapanda: friction is useful in some cases and nuisance in some cases
Ananyapanda: such as for example if we take a case that we cannot walk on slippery surface that is due to lack of friction between the surface and our foot
Ananyapanda: and it is useful in some cases such as if we see that we can walk ,or write that is only due to friction
Ananyapanda: hence friction is useful as well as a nuissance
Ananyapanda: hope ur douvt is cleard
Anonymous: thankyou
Ananyapanda: mark mee as brsinleist
AajRaj: Let see an example, when a big stone is falling from hills and a boy is standing below the hills, friction will stop the stone and boy will saved so friction is useful. But when a car is running on stormy day the friction of air will stop the car and we need more fuel which leads to wasting fuel so it is nuisance
Ananyapanda: how will the friction stop the stone?
