the answer to the first question
they told the ratio of sides is 5:4
and the perimeter is 72
we can take the side as
5x and 4x
as perimeter formula is
2(l+b)
let's assume 5x is length and 4x us breadth
so we have to with it as
2(5x+4x)=72
2(9x)=72
18x=72
x=72/18
X= 4
the length is 5x which is 5*4 = 20
breadth is 4*4 which is 16
answer to the second question
as we know that the sides of square is equla let's take it as x
so the area would be x^2
if half it we get
x/2
area would be
x^2/4
so now to find the area decreased
we need to divide
x^2/4/x^2
we get x^2/4x^2
THEY WILL CANCEL EACH OTHER WE GET
1/4 so the area will decrease by 1/4
answer of the third one
it is not clear

anju5o: ans. of 3rd is c
twinkle121: ok
anju5o: means Q.4 ans is c
