Pick and choose the parts you like and dismiss the parts you don't- its what most everyone else does. Most other religions claim to be the one true way to get to whatever carrot on a stick they are selling and they cant all be right so what does it really even matter? Will god punish those who were born into the wrong religion but are good people? If so... you're not doing yourself a favor by trying to ingratiate yourself to it with blind worship
