MIT is full of normal teenagers. They just happen to be very bright. Some are quirky, a few are brilliant or geniuses. If accepted the admission committee has made the judgement that she can do the work and graduate in 4 years. That being said about 50% of applicants can do that. MIT selects people who will contribute. They need people with outside interests. They have 500 clubs and activities....and every year 1/4 of those involved graduate and mostly leave. What she should look at is if she "fits". MIT runs a fantastic freshman preview weekend if you are accepted. If you ask they will pay to fly you there (not advertised and probably inapplicable to international students). Both my sons took advantage of this.

If you mean normal as average teenager such an average teenager will not get accepted. His application would be weeded out early on. There really are no average high school students at MIT.
