ionic bond in the sense the electrostatic forces of attraction between two oppositely charged ions and it is formed by transfer of one or more electrons from one atom to another atom so this is called as ionic bond. ionic bond is also known as electrovalent Bond or polar bond examples of ionic bond are show we can easily able to find ionic bond with difference of electronegativity that is electronegativity difference here if you take example of NaCl the electronegativity of any is that is Sodium is 0.9 and chlorine is 3.0 so if we subtract 3.0 minus 0.9 we get 2.1 by this we can understand that ionic bond in the sense if the electronegativity difference between the two atoms is greater than 1.7 then it forms ionic bond
