can you explain me why tearing of paper is a physical change and burning of paper a chemical change?

in tearing of paper the paper torn can be put it back in place by sticking the pieces together but in chemical change the burnt paper can not be got back

Tearing of paper is a physical change because tearing a paper cannot transform the paper's state
whereas,
burning of paper does, actually when we burn a paper it gets chemically changed n cannot be brought back to its original state thus it is a chemical change.
