Advertising affects issues of equality in a democracy by:-

(a) Advertising always promotes a lack of respect for the poor. But in a democracy everyone it may be a rich or a poor are to be treated equally.

(b) Advertising only focuses on the lives of rich and famous people. So, it forgets to highlight the other problems such as unemployment, poverty, female foeticide and etc.
