Can you explain why sodium salts in water do not make it hard water

sodium salts on reacting with soap(ch3coona) have no reaction spit don't form precipitate and hence don't make water hard

Sodium salts do not make water hard because hardness of water is due to Calcium (Ca) and Magnisium (Mg) ions. So thats why sodium salt do not make water hard.
