What is the formula of a²—b²?

HERE IS THE SOME BASIC FORMULAS

18.7k views · · · Answer requested by

(a² - b²) = (a + b)(a - b)

Proof:-

Considering R.H.S.(right hand side) equation i.e.,

(a + b)(a - b)

=> a(a-b) + b(a-b)

=> a² - ab + ab - b²

=> a² - b²

Since R.H.S = L.S.H. the given equation is correct.

i.e., a² - b² = (a + b)(a - b)

Now, let us check the equation by giving some values

Let a=3 & b=2

=> 3² - 2² = 9 - 4 = 5

and (3 + 2)(3 - 2) = (5)(1) = 5

thus the equation is correct

a^2-b^2

=(a+b)(a-b)

In explanation.

a(a-b) +b(a-b)

=a^2-ab+ab-b^2

=a^2-b^2
