Can you find out what 'w' is?

(5w-8)/3 = 4w+2

(Please show/explain your working out)

by cross muliplication,
[tex](5w-8)=3(4w+2) ----> 5w-8=12w+6 ----->7w=-14 w=-2 [/tex]
therefore w= -2

(5W-8)/3 =4W+2
 5W-8 =(4W+2)×3
    5W-8=12W+6
     5W-12W=8+6
      -7W=14
