I sense a slight animosity in your questions here. Since I’m a Quora user who is not compensated for the time I dedicate to answering questions, I am surely offended by this. I deem your question hate speech and I wish to see it removed from the platform.

That’s ridiculous, right? Of course it is. Hate speech is subjective. What offends some many not offend others. Hate speech is a problem but only to the person interpreting it as such. An example:

I have two siblings who are gay/bisexual. While they both like the wieners, it’s the only thing they really share in common. One is a dedicated member of ANTIFA and protesting is his weekend fun. He uses the words “hate speech” and “bigot” at least once in every conversation. The other works a blue collar job and is dating a minority. The second brother makes gay jokes all the time. He dishes them out, makes innuendo remarks and will laugh if I can make an original and witty remark towards him and his preferences. He, of course, knows I am kidding as I don’t care who people decide to date, marry, sleep with or what-not. My first brother, however, is very easily offended. But, he get’s offended at comments and remarks that would be difficult to label as “hate speech.” So, what do we do? Perhaps stop talking all together? No communicating would eliminate hate speech but it would also eliminate all speech. Next, we’ll have “hate stare” because regressive ideologies pushed us back a few million years and now we’re communicating by facial expressions - since the easily offended took away verbal communication.

I cannot think of any historical examples that show hate speech as a problem because it would be purely anecdotal. It would be based on opinions, not empirical evidence or facts. Even words we deem offensive mean different things to different cultures. Nothing good comes from restricting thoughts and speech, just look at history where such rules were implemented.
