The raised area of each city is know as a citadel. The citadel has the house of the ruling class. The citadel points to the elaborate planning that went into the deveplopment of cities and justifies that the harrapan civilisation was an urban civilisation

Explanation:

  • Citadel is the main “fortified area” of a city or city. It can be a castle, fortress or a center of the fort. This word is a small part of the word "city" and thus means "small town", hence it is called a small part of the city because it is the defensive core.
  • Some of the earliest known structures which were constructed as a bastion by the Indus Valley Civilization were constructed, where the fort was represented by a centralized authority. The main fort in the Indus Valley was about 12 meters long.
