HI,
1)friction opposes the relative motion between two surfaces in contact.
it acts on both the surfaces.
2)static friction comes into play when we try move an object at rest relative to another surface or object.
3)sliding friction comes into play when an object is. sliding over another.
4)friction depends on the nature of surface and the normal force with which the body presses the other surface.
5)friction is independent of area of contact.
6)friction can be reduced by using lubricants and ball bearings in many machines
thanks for asking these question.........
