Can you give me your opinion about king midas story and why?

The king wished that all he touched might turn to gold, but when his food became gold and he nearly starved to death as a result, he realized his error.

Being a king, king Midas had his eyes on gold. It was evident that he was greedy and never forethought anything which is not a quality of a king. He should have thought what the consequences would be. I think he made a very hasty wish and paid the price for it at the end.
