Answer✒️
Nuclear polyhedrosis virus refers to 35 species of Baculoviridae, mostly Alphabaculovirus. It also includes one Deltabaculovirus and two Gammabaculoviruses. It is a virus that attacks on pests specially moths and butterflies.
It consists of a polyhedral capsid, an extremely stable protein crystal. This protects the virus in the external environment. This protein crystal is capable of dissolving in the midgut of larva. Being alkaline in nature, the midgut provides congenial environment for release of the virus particle that ultimately infects the larva.
