There are two resistors attached in parallel between A and X

Net resistance

Rp =8/2=4 ohm

Between A and B there are two resistors are attached in series

Rs =4+4=8 ohm

Between A and B two resistors are connected in parallel

Rp=12×8 /20

Rp=4.8 ohm
