16 ) Given ,

radius of the circle (r)=3.5cm

length of the side of a

equilateral (a) =7cm

i) Area of the circle = πr²

ii ) Area of the equilateral

triangle = (√3/4 )a²

iii ) Area of the shaded

region = Area of the major

sector + Area of the

equilateral - area of the

minor sector

= (300/360)πr²+(√3/4)a²

- (60/360)πr²

= (5/6)πr²+(√3/4)a²

- (1/6)πr²

= [5/6 - 1/6]πr² +(√3/4)a²

= (4/6)πr² + (√3/4)a²

= (2/3)πr²+(√3/4)a²

= (2/3)(22/7)(3.5)²

+ (1.73/4)×7²

= 25.67 + 21.1925

= 46.8615 cm²
