Eventually airplanes fly above the clouds.....

So no actual rainbow at all. ...

Basically the shape of rainbow depends on the cone generated by lightrays to the downfall rain and it's projection always be a circle but due to earth's horizon it appears as a arc.

The lower the sun, the higher the top of the rainbow
