Mexico has essentially the same resources as the US, and way better climate, but is still a Third World country. Switzerland has no resources except the brains and abilities of its people, and is one of the world's most prosperous economies. In India, regions rich in resources but economically backward include : - Bihar; - Orissa; - West Bengal; - Rajasthan; -Chattisgarh ; - Assam; -Other North East States - Jharkhand ;and - Madhya Pradesh; On the other hand regions relatively poor in resources but economically developed include: - Gujarat; - Maharashtra; - Tamil Nadu ; - Andhra Pradesh; - Kerala etc.
