given equation

 {x}^{2} + x - k = 0

consider the roots of the equation be a ,b

given that b=a^2

we know that sum of roots = -1 ( in this case )

=》a+a^2=-1

=》a^2+a+1=0

=》(a-1)(a^2+a+1)=0

=》a^3-1^3=0

=》a^3=1^3

=》a=1

and product of roots = k (in this case only)

=》a^3=k

=》1^3=I

=》k=1

hope this helps you
