i)81²=(80+1)²=6400+160+1=6561.
ii) 198²=(200-2)²=40000-800+4=39204.
Note : in the above questions 2 identities were used:
1. (a+b)²=a²+2ab+b².
2. (a-b)²=a²-2ab+b².
The numbers were separated as the sum of 2 numbers.
