Acid rain refers to the various ways by which acid form on the atmosphere condense and fall on the earth surface.

when poisonous get mixed with air an water like nitrate and get evaporated .As a result they get condensed that is rain , this rain is not pure but acidic and nitrate gets converted into nitric acid ,this rain is called as acid rain.

When poisonous gases like carbon dioxide, nitrogen, sulphur dioxide mix with water and evaporate and then condenses and fall as rain causing destruction to environment is called acid rain
