Answer

62.75 cm² ans

Step-by-step explanation:

IN ∆ EAD

area of ∆EAD = 1/2 base × height

= 1/2 × 12 × 4.5

= 27 cm ²

IN ∆ACD

=1/2 × base × height

=1/2 × 12 × 5

= 30 cm²

IN ∆ABC

To find base AC

Use Pythagoras theorem in ∆ ACD

= (AC)² = (AD )² + (DC)²

=(AC)² =(12)² + (5)²

=(AC)² = 144 + 25

(AC)² = 169

AC = 13 cm

area of ∆ ABC

=1/2 × base × height

=1/2 × 13 × 5

= 35.75 cm²

SUM OF ar(∆ ABC) + ar(∆ACD) + ar(∆EAD)

== 35.75+30+27

= 62.75 cm²
