Distance = Total length of the path
= 8m + 6m
= 14 m
Displacement = Distance between initial and final position
In given diagram displacement is length of AC
It is a right angled triangle. Displacement is equal hypotenuse of given triangle.
Use Pythagoras theorem
Displacement = √(8^2 + 6^2)
= √(64 + 36)
= √100
= 10 m
Displacement is 10 m
= 8m + 6m
= 14 m

Helloo!
Total distance traveled by seemma = 6m + 8m = 14m
Now, Displacement = shortest distance covered by seema...!
so shortest distance will be C to A
by using Pythagoras theorem
AC = √ AB^2+ BC^2
AC = √ 8^2 + 6^2
AC = √ 64 + 36
AC = √100
AC = 10
therefore total displacement = 10m
hope this helps you...!!
