Two components are necessary for the formation of rainbow 1. Sunlight 2. Raindrops in the atmosphere.

Rainbow is a metrological phenomenon. A rainbow spreads its wings in the sky whenever the rays of the sunshine fall on them; thus reflection, refraction, and dispersion of the light occurs, creating an arc of seven colours in the sky.

So, we cannot observe the colours of nature in the air if the sun doesn’t shine after it rains.
