no. of boys=7x
no. of girls=5x
so, difference between the no. of boys and no. of girls=7x-5x=2x
therefore, 2x=8=> x=4
so total strength of the class=7x+5x
=12x
=12×4=48
no. of girls=5x
so, difference between the no. of boys and no. of girls=7x-5x=2x
