 Pangea was a supercontinent that existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras. It assembled from earlier continental units approximately 335 million years ago, and it began to break apart about 175 million years ago.

Pangaea was known as the super-continent.

Many many years ago there was a huge landmass that comprised of all the 7 continents namely -

Asia
Africa
Antarctica 
North America
South America
Australia
Europe 

This was only called Pangaea.

Later it was split due to the movement of earth's tectonic plates.
