Explanation:

Let us solve the question give proper explanation side-by-side.

 \frac{d}{20}  +  \frac{d}{30}  \\

Taking LCM of the denominators of both the given fractions,

LCM of 20 and 30 = 60

Now, converting the fractions to like fractions i. e. having same denominator.

 \frac{d}{20}  \times  \frac{3}{3}  +  \frac{d}{30}  \times  \frac{2}{2}

Now, performing simple multiplication,

 \frac{3d}{60}  +  \frac{2d}{60}

Now we can write as,

 \frac{3d + 2d}{60}

Performing simple addition of numerator,

 \frac{5d}{60}

Now, taking out common of the fraction,

 \frac{5d}{5 \times 12}

 \frac{d}{12}
