Can you tell why there is difference in heating of land water

Land is a bad conductor of heat so when sun rays fall on it only the uppemost part that is facing the sunrays gets heated up quickly  

whereas in case of water it is a good conductor of heat so it satarts spreading heat so it doesn't gets haeted up quickly..
