Explanation:

When a body displaces its position from one place to another wih respect to the object in rest, it is called the body is in motion.

Periodic motion: When a body shows to and fro motion along a fixed path in a fixed period of time, it is called periodic motion.

For example : Pendulum of a clock shows periodic motion because it shows to and fro motion.

The object starts motion from a position which is called mean position and the to and fro postions are called extreme positions.

Our body parts which shows periodic motion are:

  • Pumping of heart
  • Blinking of eyes
  • Inhaling and exhaling

These are all the processes of our body which shows periodic motion, that is they all shows to and fro motion in a fixed period of time.
