When bright light is focused on our eyes , the photoreceptors generate electric impulses and send it to the spinal cord via the sensory neurons. The spinal cord inteprets the message and send its response to the muscles of the eyelids to close via the motor neurons. And therefore our eyelids close when bright light is focused on our eyes.
