Maximum numbers of trophic levels that can exist in food chain or food web is four. Different organisms occupy different trophic levels and a consumer being of heterotrophic category occupies third trophic level. Humans are omnivores, it means that they have choice either to feed directly on plants or they can also feed on animals. So humans can be on the third or forth trophic level depending upon the type of food they are consuming.
