The students will use ● to represent positive integers and use O to represent negative integers and solve
the following. [Cancel one black dot against one white dot while adding negative and positive integers]. One
has been done as an example:
3+(-2) : + = ••• + ○○ = •
Solve:
(a) 3+4
(b) (-2)+1
(c) (-5)+(-2)
(d) 4+(-4)
(e) 9+(-3)
Suggestion: Students may also use two different colour bindis for this activity one for +ve and one for –ve
