cannizzaro reaction between two molecules of formaldehyde in the presence of concentrated KOH .......What will be the mechanism...plz answer me fast.

Cannizzaro reaction: -
Aldehydes which do not have any alpha hydrogen atom(H-CHO &C6H6-CHO) undergo self oxidation and reduction when treated with con. Alkali to form the corresponding acid and alcohol.

first of all, i have asked the MECHANISM and secondly the 2 product formed will be a salt i.e. potassium formate (here in your answer) and alcohol...Hence plz answer me it's mechanism.

* The Cannizzaro reaction is initiated by the nucleophilic attack of a hydroxide ion on the carbonyl carbon of an aldehyde molecule by giving a hydrate anion, which can be further deprotonated to give a dianion in a strongly alkaline medium.
