length * breadth * height ( i.e. the volume of tank)
let height be x
so, 12*5*x= = 240000
60 x = 240000
x= 240000/60
x = 4000

We know that capacity of the tank is equal to the volume of the tank.
Volume of the tank, V = 240000 litres = 240000 / 1000 cu. m = 240 cu. m
Length of the tank, l = 12 m
Breadth of the tank, b = 5 m
Let the depth of the tank be ' h ' .
Since, volume of the tank is equal to the product of the length, breadth and height(depth).
Volume of the tank, V = l * b * h
240 cu. m = 12 * 5 * h
h = 240 / ( 12 * 5 )
h = 240 / 60
h = 24 / 6
h = 4 m
Hence,
Depth of the tank = 4 m
