Hello there!

If the capacity of the lift is 18 Adults or 30 children. Then that means that the weight of 18 Adults is equal to the weight of 30 children.

Let weight of an Adult = a
Let weight of a Child = c
Therefore:

18a = 30c \\ 3a = 5c
Hence the weight of 3 Adults is equal to the weight of 5 Children.

Normally 18 Adults can use the lift at a time, but only 12 are using it this time. So 6 more adults can use the lift.

So we find number of children whose total weight is equal to the total weight of 6 adults.

We know that

3a = 5c
Hence we can say that:

6a = 10c
Thus, the weight of 6 Adults is equal to the weight of 10 Children.

Hence 10 more Children can get into the lift already filled with 12 Adults.
